Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Victor Hugo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keegan Savard!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savard misses with a two punch combination.
Savard misses with an uppercut.
Hugo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hugo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hugo avoids a punch combination nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Savard enables Hugo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Savard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hugo stops Savard from standing up.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Savard can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hugo controls the pace.
Savard controlling the position.

Hugo trying to control the position from guard on top but Savard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Savard misses with a few strikes there.
Savard misses with a double jab.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hugo.
Savard manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hugo's best efforts.
Savard wants to get back to his feet.
Hugo trying to control the pace.

Savard is trying to stand back up but Hugo is controlling him
Hugo is just content to waste time from the top position. Savard takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Savard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hugo is controlling him.
Savard pulls Hugo in close to his closed guard and prevents Hugo from doing any damage or advancing position.

Hugo won't allow Savard to get back to his feet.
Savard has his hands on Hugo's head, controlling the position.

Savard uses the cage to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hugo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Savard defends it nicely.
Savard throws a series of strikes that have Hugo backpedaling.
Savard is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Savard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hugo.
Hugo darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Savard throws a low kick, looking for Hugo's leg but Hugo calmly moves out of range.
Savard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hugo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Savard!
Hugo throws some wild stikes that Savard manages to avoid easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Victor Hugo will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Savard scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Savard throws a right hand that Hugo ducks under and follows up with a left that Hugo also avoids with ease.
Keegan Savard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Savard throws a combination that misses

and Hugo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Savard!
Savard is looking to improve his position but Hugo isn't that keen on the idea.
Savard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Savard keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Hugo swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
