Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Howie Diddot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Bryant!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant moves out of range of the leg kick from Diddot.
An inside leg kick from Diddot misses.
Diddot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bryant feints and as Diddot raises his hands in defense, Bryant changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bryant tries to free his leg and advance position but Diddot is retaining full guard.
Bryant is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bryant won't allow Diddot to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bryant passes Diddot's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Bryant wants to work for an arm triangle but Diddot is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bryant seems to be working for a kimura but Diddot defends the submission attempt.
Diddot is looking to control Bryant's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diddot avoid being mounted?

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Diddot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bryant is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bryant shoots in for a double leg but Diddot sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Diddot misses with a hook. Bryant ducked under it nicely.
Bryant shoots in for a takedown but Diddot shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Howie Diddot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diddot lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bryant blocks a jab.
Bryant checks a low kick from Diddot.
A head kick misses from Diddot.
Diddot wants to clinch up but Bryant keeps it at a distance.
Diddot finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bryant shoots in but Diddot avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bryant keeps the fight on the outside.

Diddot stuffs the takedown.
Howie Diddot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Bryant.

Bryant bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Diddot wants to control but Bryant postures up.

Bryant is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diddot is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Diddot is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Bryant goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Diddot has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bryant but great work by Diddot.

Bryant gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Diddot is looking for a kimura but Bryant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diddot to get the leverage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bryant wants to get back to full guard.
Bryant regains full guard. Nicely done.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bryant is on top in guard.

Bryant is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bryant tries to free his leg and advance position but Diddot is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Bryant misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diddot is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bryant.
Bryant stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Diddot.
Diddot fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Jacob Bryant has been cut.
Diddot looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Diddot tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Diddot throws the left hand but Bryant avoids the punch easily.
Bryant blocks a jab.
Diddot tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bryant is able to avoid easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Diddot throws a hook but Bryant blocks it.

Bryant shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bryant was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Diddot is trying to escape the mount.

Bryant quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Bryant but it's paid off an Diddot is forced to tap! Nice work by Bryant.
