Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tsubasa Hongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanniball Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Dub Pistols - Running from the thoughts as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hongo sprawls well. Hongo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Hongo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Smith did well to prevent Hongo getting side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hongo pulls his head out easily.
Hongo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hongo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hongo's back!

Hongo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hongo in particular looking to stall.

and Hongo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Smith!
Tsubasa Hongo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanniball Smith.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hongo.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Hongo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hongo manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Hongo's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Hongo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Smith has Hongo pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Hongo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hongo jumps into guard, dragging Smith to the mat.
Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hongo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.

Hongo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hongo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hongo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smith has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hongo. Oh but Smith has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hongo goes limp - he's gone! Smith jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
