Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Camerino Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jigaro Kano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kano comes into a darkened arena with his song building. the zepher song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Camerino Fernandez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Kano, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kano throws a right hand that Fernandez ducks under and follows up with a left that Fernandez also avoids with ease.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fernandez holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kano looking to sit in guard and control but Fernandez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fernandez slips a nice elbow through Kano's hands, connecting with Kano's forehead.
Fernandez has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Kano works to full guard.
Fernandez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kano lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fernandez circles away quickly and effectively.
Kano stalks Fernandez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fernandez's face. Fernandez staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Camerino Fernandez has been cut.
Fernandez moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kano throws a low kick but it's checked well by Fernandez.
Kano walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Fernandez checks a leg kick.
Kano swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kano throws a low kick but Fernandez avoids it.
No luck for Kano with that takedown attempt.
Fernandez misses with a double jab.
Kano takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kano moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Fernandez scores with a hook to the body. Kano takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Fernandez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Fernandez counters with a nice uppercut.
Kano takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Fernandez lunges at Kano with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kano's hand.
Fernandez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Fernandez lands with a big left! Kano is wobbled badly! Fernandez comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Kano to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
