PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Man Zend (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boleslav Demidoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zend comes to the cage accompanied by Get Up. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Boleslav Demidoff was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demidoff looks to land a combination but Zend avoids it well.

Demidoff gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Zend wants to get back to his feet.
Demidoff is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Demidoff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zend keeps working.
Zend is looking to escape.
Demidoff is just content to waste time from the top position. Zend takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Demidoff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Demidoff must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Zend wants to stand and escape but Demidoff is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Zend moves in looking to clinch but Demidoff pushes him off.

Demidoff has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Zend clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Demidoff slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Zend bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Demidoff has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zend finds it's way round the side to connect with Demidoff's head.

Zend throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Demidoff stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Zend follows into mount!

Demidoff is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zend takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zend misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zend is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Demidoff is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Demidoff lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zend circles away quickly and effectively.

and Zend counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Demidoff has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Man Zend is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Zend lands with a kick to the temple. Demidoff shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Zend lands a really nice looking cross but Demidoff seems unphased.
Zend tries to close the distance and clinch but Demidoff swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Zend, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
