Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Burat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burat shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Burat on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Carter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burat sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carter somewhat.

Kevin Burat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Carter.

Burat shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Burat seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carter for as long as he can get away with.

Carter shoots for a takedown but Burat saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Burat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Carter throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Burats head.

Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carter looks to score with a jab to the body but Burat is just out of range.
Carter shoots for a double leg takedown but Burat sprawls well. He's pushed Carter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Burat's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Burat shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carter is trying to defend but Burat finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Carter tries to close the distance and clinch but Burat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No luck for Burat with that takedown attempt.
Carter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Burat has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Burat avoids the attempt from Carter to control.

Burat throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Burat is in Carter's guard.

Burat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Carter enables Burat to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Burat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Burat is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burat, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
