Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layzie Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nix comes to the cage accompanied by Holy Diver by Killswitch Engage. Assassin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thuggish Ruggish Bone kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nix throws a lazy right hand but Assassin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Assassin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nix. Assassin does a little dance to reset his feet.

Assassin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Assassin sizes up Nix with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Nix throws the left hand but Assassin avoids the punch easily.
Nix swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Nix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Assassin moves away.
Nix stuns Assassin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nix tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Assassin was well out of range. Poor timing from Nix.
Nix throws a series of punches but Assassin moves out of range.
Nix throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nix lands with a kick to the ribs.
Assassin throws a predictable looking body shot

and Nix counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Nix cracks Assassin with a solid left hand.
Nix content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Nix throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nix accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Assassin looking for a sweep. Not yet Assassin, not yet.
Nix is working Assassin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Nix scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Nix has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Nix has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Assassin to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Nix is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Assassin pulls down on the head and he's put Nix to sleep! This one is all over!
