Hansen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Prodigy - Breathe. Gunner Hansen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kyle Smith's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hansen. Hansen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hansen manages to avoid it.
Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hansen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hansen somewhat.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
Smith keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Smith throws a series of punches but Hansen avoids them all with ease.
Smith scores with a shot to the body.

Hansen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kyle Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hansen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hansen circles away quickly and effectively.

Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hansen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Hansen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hansen there as he acknowledges the shot.
