Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herbert West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drago kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eye of the tiger. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Drago as he avoids it easily.
West shoots in but Drago avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Drago moves into the clinch.
West has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Drago avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ivan Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herbert West.

Drago's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
West looks for a takedown but Drago sprawls well.
West takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Drago fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but West is out of range.

West tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drago sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten West somewhat.

Drago got a little sloppy there for a moment and West has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Drago has managed to get both his arms back between West's legs - danger averted.

Drago bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on West's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
West is looking to reverse the position.

Drago has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

West is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Drago is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
