Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sephiroth Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sephiroth Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Liddel!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddel throws a leg kick that misses.
Cooper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Liddel defends it nicely.
Cooper dives in and grabs Liddel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Liddel pushes down on Cooper's head and hops out.
Cooper fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sephiroth Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Liddel tries to clinch but Cooper is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cooper shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Liddel napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Liddel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cooper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Cooper is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Liddel has escaped the position, nice work there.
Liddel parries the strikes from Cooper easily there. Cooper is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Liddel to escape.
You can see the frustration on Liddel's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cooper wants to control but Liddel is keeping him busy.
A lull in the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cooper is looking to take a break and control but Liddel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cooper is trying to get an arm triangle but Liddel is defending well.
Cooper controls the position from side control.

Cooper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liddel, who protects the arm well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cooper trying to control the position but Liddel is working away.
Cooper tries to advance to mount but can't.

Cooper is trying to get an arm triangle but Liddel is defending well.
Cooper staying calm.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The strikes coming from Cooper are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Cooper is trying to move to mount but Liddel reverses beautifully and ends up in Cooper's guard.
Cooper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cooper working for a triangle but Liddel defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sephiroth Cooper dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Cooper closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cooper in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Cooper goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Liddel has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cooper but great work by Liddel.
Cooper tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cooper is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Liddel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cooper moves into full guard.

Liddel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Liddel has managed to get both his arms back between Cooper's legs - danger averted.
Liddel postures up.
Liddel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Liddel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooper swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cooper not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cooper looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cooper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Liddel defends well.

Liddel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cooper throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Cooper trying to keep a closed guard but Liddel is proving a slippery customer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cooper keeping moving, preventing Liddel from controlling successfully.
Liddel postures up.
Liddel trying to control but Cooper is working from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fred Liddel wasn't active enough on the ground.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cooper.
Liddel gets back to half guard.
Cooper trying to control the action but Liddel is working from the bottom.

Cooper working the head and body with strikes.
Cooper is looking to advance position but Liddel won't allow it.

Cooper is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sephiroth Cooper dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cooper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Liddel is trying to defend but Cooper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Cooper throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Liddel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cooper is working away from the top position though.
Cooper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Liddel's head.

Cooper thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Cooper is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Liddel defends it well.

Cooper wants to take a breather but Liddel is having none of it.

Liddel desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Cooper is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Cooper trying to control but Liddel is working from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cooper accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cooper content to stall in guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sephiroth Cooper.
Liddel jabs at Cooper's body.
Sephiroth Cooper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cooper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddel is fending him off so far but Cooper persists. Nope, Liddel circles away and we're back to standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Liddel tries to clinch up.
Fred Liddel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Liddel fails to land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sephiroth Cooper.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cooper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
