PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Hallow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Hazuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hallow comes into the arena with Hells Bells - AC/DC blaring out of the sound system. Hazuki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Earth & Sea. Ryo Hazuki is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Hallow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Hazuki!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hallow fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hazuki checks it well.
Hazuki looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hallow throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hallow drops Hazuki with a right and a left! Hallow comes rushing in but Hazuki regains his composure and manages to keep Hallow in guard.


Hazuki is rocked!

Hazuki throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hallow uses it to pass to side control.
Hazuki is still in real trouble! Can Hallow finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hallow stands up and beckons Hazuki to his feet.
Hazuki seems to have recovered his senses.
Hazuki dodges the punch combination from Hallow.
Nice body punch from Hallow.

Hallow clinches up with Hazuki and pushes him back against the cage.
Hazuki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hallow.
Hazuki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hallow smiles and moves away.
Hallow lands with a straight right. Hazuki didn't see that one coming.

Hazuki drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hazuki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hallow is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hallow has escaped and now he's on top!
Hallow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Hazuki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hallow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hallow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hazuki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hallow is on top in guard.

Hallow stands up and beckons Hazuki to join him on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hallow with a lazy takedown attempt

and Hazuki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hazuki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hallow is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hallow has escaped and now he's on top!

Hallow gets to his feet - Hazuki follows without any prompting.

Hazuki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hazuki lands in his opponent's guard.

Hazuki looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hallow has picked Hazuki up and slammed him! Hazuki can't keep hold of the triangle and Hallow manages to pass to side control!

Hallow has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hazuki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hallow's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hallow decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hazuki to his feet.
Hazuki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hallow as he avoids it easily.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hallow, as that shot connected.

Hallow doesn't manage to clinch there - Hazuki circles away.
Hallow cracks Hazuki with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hallow fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hallow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hazuki to the mat! Hazuki manages to get full guard.

Hazuki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hazuki is looking for a sweep. Hallow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hallow is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Brad Hallow showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hallow has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
