The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
connelly throws a head kick that misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from connelly is defended easily by St Piere.
connelly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but St Piere avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from St Piere as connelly shoots in.
George St Piere has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of kyle connelly.
connelly misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No joy there for connelly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

St Piere looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for connelly!

St Piere swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and connelly is now in St Piere's guard. A big mistake from St Piere there, giving up the dominant position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

connelly is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! St Piere is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! St Piere has escaped and now he's on top!
connelly looks gassed!

St Piere is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

St Piere postures up and lands a big shot to connelly's brow.

St Piere pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. connelly is keeping the position for now.
St Piere sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed connelly's guard.

St Piere looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
connelly is trying to defend against the ground and pound but St Piere scores with a couple of nice shots.

St Piere has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can connelly defend it? St Piere steps over the head and cranks it - connelly is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for St Piere!
