The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gamboa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Guinness throws a series of punches but gamboa moves out of range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Guinness takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Guinness shoots in looking for a takedown. gamboa tries to sprawl out of it but Guinness keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. gamboa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Richard Guinness.
