Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jon Loeffler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Tibbens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rusty Tibbens will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Loeffler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rusty Tibbens!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loeffler has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Tibbens.

Loeffler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tibbens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Loeffler is trying to get an arm triangle but Tibbens is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tibbens is looking to reverse the position.

Loeffler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tibbens knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Loeffler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Loeffler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Loeffler sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Tibbens is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Loeffler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tibbens knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Loeffler tries to move to mount but Tibbens blocks the move with his legs.

Loeffler lands a few punches from side control.

Tibbens tries to improve position but can't.
Tibbens is working to avoid the ground and pound but Loeffler connects with a decent elbow.

Tibbens gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Loeffler is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tibbens doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Loeffler.
Tibbens is trying to maintain the position but Loeffler is very close to passing his half guard.
Loeffler passes to side control.
Tibbens is working to avoid the ground and pound but Loeffler connects with a decent elbow.
Loeffler has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Loeffler looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Tibbens looks gassed!
Tibbens swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Loeffler putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Tibbens is bucking up trying to escape but Loeffler cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loeffler cracks Tibbens with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Loeffler breaks from Tibbens's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Loeffler is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Loeffler working for a guillotine from mount but Tibbens is in no mood to give up.
Tibbens wants to hold on but Loeffler pushes him away.

Loeffler is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tibbens is surviving well by controlling Loeffler's body position as best he can.

Loeffler goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tibbens is on top in guard.
Tibbens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tibbens is sitting in close to Loeffler's body. Loeffler has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Tibbens is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Tibbens is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Loeffler.
