Benjamin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is lions sleeps tonight. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Benjamin throws a series of punches but Gaines moves out of range.

Benjamin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Gaines takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Benjamin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gaines fails to land the takedown.

Benjamin scores a takedown into full mount!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Benjamin tries to clinch up but Gaines circles away and keeps his distance.
Gaines rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Benjamin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Benjamin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Benjamin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gaines sprawling to the canvas! Gaines rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Benjamin finish him?!

It looks like Jack Gaines has been cut.

Gaines bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Benjamin explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Judah Benjamin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benjamin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Benjamin feints with a jab and clips Gaines right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Gaines is sent crashing into the canvas and Benjamin leaps in for the kill! Gaines tries to get to his feet but Benjamin is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Gaines is in need of a savior and steps in!
