Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Valor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vince Dixon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Valor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vince Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Valor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dixon misses with a series of wild punches.
Valor defending well as Dixon loads up on a big left hand.
Dixon is looking to land body kicks.
Dixon throws an overhand right that lands on Valor's shoulder, as Valor tries to avoid the shot.

Dixon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dixon lands in his opponent's guard.
Valor is trying to control the position but Dixon postures up.
Valor looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dixon is one step ahead there.

Dixon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dixon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Valor, who protects the arm well.
Dixon throws a strike aimed at the side of Valor's head but Valor avoids it well.

Dixon cracks Valor with a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dixon tries to score with some ground and pound. Valor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Valor can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dixon misses with the ground and pound.

Valor parries the strikes from Dixon easily there. Dixon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Valor to escape.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dixon has eaten all the pies!
Valor gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dixon looking to control but Valor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dixon scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Dixon landing strikes, looking to finish!
BOOM! Dixon connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dixon controlling the pace for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dixon lands a big shot there that rocks Valor but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vince Dixon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dixon slaps away a takedown attempt from Valor, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dixon is looking to clinch but Valor is avoiding it.
Dixon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Valor paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Dixon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Valor's guard now.
Dixon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Valor wants to stand but Dixon is controlling the position.
Dixon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Valor is keeping the position for now.
Dixon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Valor controls Dixon momentarily but Dixon frees himself.
Valor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dixon is controlling him.
Dixon trying to control the position from guard on top but Valor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Valor can't keep his opponent in guard - Dixon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Valor gets back to full guard.
Valor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dixon wants to control from the top but Valor keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Valor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dixon is controlling him.

Valor is wriggling around trying to escape.

Dixon looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Valor is squirming around, avoiding Dixon's attempts to control the action.
Valor takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

A nice elbow there by Dixon.

Valor is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Vince Dixon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dixon wants to control the pace but Valor is squirming around nicely.
Valor is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dixon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vince Dixon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Dixon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valor's waist but Valor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dixon off to one side.

Valor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Valor wants to stand and escape but instead Dixon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dixon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dixon stands and throws Valor's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dixon tries to move into full mount but can't pass Valor's legs.
You can see the frustration on Valor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Valor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dixon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Valor tries to hold on but Dixon postures up.
Dixon controlling the pace for now.
Valor tries to lock up and control but Dixon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Valor is squirming around, avoiding Dixon's attempts to control the action.
Dixon lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Valor is trying desperately to improve position.

Dixon avoids the attempt from Valor to control.
Valor is bucking up trying to escape but Dixon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Dixon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Valor is looking to escape.

Dixon wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Dixon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Valor hang on?
Valor tries to reverse the position but Dixon maintains control.
Dixon controlling from the full mount.
Dixon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dixon wants to control the pace but Valor is squirming around nicely.
Dixon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Valor's face.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vince Dixon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dixon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
