Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Samuelsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Samuelsson's guard.
Samuelsson wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Samuelsson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Samuelsson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Marcus Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Samuelsson is defending well.
Jones postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

You can see the frustration on Samuelsson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jones has hold of Samuelsson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Samuelsson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Samuelsson swivels and escapes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Samuelsson closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.
Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Samuelsson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

It looks like Marcus Jones has been cut.
Samuelsson misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Jones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Samuelsson throws out the jab.
Samuelsson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Samuelsson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Samuelsson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Samuelsson.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Samuelsson which made him look bad.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Samuelsson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
