Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Ribero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scipio Africanus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Ribero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scipio Africanus!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Africanus checks a leg kick.
Africanus jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ribero moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Africanus shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ribero manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ribero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Africanus defends it easily.

Ribero has an active guard here but Africanus has managed to pass into half guard.
Africanus wants to stand up but Ribero is controlling the position.
Ribero wants to improve his position but Africanus is controlling well.

Ribero has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Africanus is working away from the top position though.

Africanus decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ribero, up you get!

Africanus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ribero is trying to defend but Africanus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ribero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Africanus manages to get himself to full guard.

Ribero drops back, looking for a kneebar! Africanus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Africanus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Africanus!

Ribero can't do much from the bottom here.

Africanus decides to stand back up. Africanus steps back and let's Ribero get back to his feet.
Ribero wants to clinch but Africanus slips to the side

and Africanus counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ribero!
Ribero bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Ribero wants to control from the top but Africanus keeps moving.
Ribero is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Africanus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ribero postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Africanus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ribero, into his guard.

Ribero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Africanus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Africanus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Scipio Africanus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Africanus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A punch lands to the side of Africanus 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Africanus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ribero as he jumps to the side.

Africanus is pressed up against the cage. Ribero has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Africanus down to the mat. Africanus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
