The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercier takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Mercier slips a jab and a cross from Simpson.
Simpson cracks a nice hook into Mercier's ribs.
Mercier takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Simpson connects with a looping right hand.
Mercier closes the distance and clinches up with Simpson, looking for a takedown. Mercier pushes Simpson against the ropes but Simpson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mercier misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
