Jones is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Eskmo - Cloudlight. Shane Flair has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Flair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flair's waist but Flair gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Jones's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jones duly obliges.
Flair showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.

A cross from Jones lands.
Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jones lands a nice hook to Flair's body. Flair takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jones throws a series of punches but Flair avoids them all with ease.

Jones swings for the body but Flair moves out of range.

Flair throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Flair finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Flair has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Flair's guard.

Flair has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Flair is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
Flair knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Flair kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Flair might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

David Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.

Flair is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flair to get the leverage.
David Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Flair is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Flair eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
David Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
