The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Penn takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Penn throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent O Leary stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Penn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of O Leary's head.
O Leary lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like PJ Penn has been cut.
Penn swings for the body but O Leary moves out of range.

Let's hope that O Leary has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
O Leary dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Penn. That did some damage!
Oh Penn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Penn seems to have got his legs back now.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as O Leary takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
