Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Machine misses with a looping left.
Puhti has his takedown stuffed
and Machine counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Puhti feints and as Machine raises his hands in defense, Puhti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Puhti thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Machine working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Puhti.
Machine wants to stand but Puhti is controlling the position.

Puhti drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Machine dives on top into guard.
Machine prevents Puhti from getting back to his feet.
Machine wants to pass the guard but Puhti is keeping the position.

Puhti scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Puhti tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Machine paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Machine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Puhti was covering up waiting for the punch and Machine finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Machine throws a strike but Puhti rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Puhti postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Machine is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Puhti, into his guard.

Puhti kicks Machine off and gets to his feet.
Voitto Puhti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Machine closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Puhti did well to prevent Machine getting side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Machine is nestled in close to Puhti, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Puhti sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Machine misses with an uppercut. Puhti saw that one coming.

and Puhti makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Puhti closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Machine to the mat! Machine manages to get full guard.

Puhti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Machine looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Machine looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Machine!
Machine postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Puhti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Machine not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Puhti has one foot on Machine's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Machine misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Puhti.

Puhti is looking for a triangle but Machine pushes his legs off easily.

Puhti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Machine can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Puhti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Machine defends it easily.
Machine lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Puhti wants to sweep but no luck.
Machine looking to sit in guard and control but Puhti gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Puhti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machine swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Machine counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Machine stands and throws Puhti's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Puhti fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Machine manages to avoid it.
A jab from Puhti finds it's way through Machine's defenses.

Machine misses with a takedown

and Puhti counters with a nice double leg into side control. Machine won't be happy with that.
Machine is working to avoid the ground and pound but Puhti connects with a decent elbow.
Machine is not content to let Puhti control the position.
Puhti throws an elbow but Machine slips to the side and avoids it well.
Puhti is working Machine over with some ground and pound from side control.
Puhti wants to control but Machine is keeping him busy.
Machine can't do much from the bottom here.

Puhti scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Machine to see if he's OK.
