Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ola Afolabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Link Gatez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Link Gatez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Link Gatez!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Afolabi cracks a nice hook into Gatez's ribs.
Gatez throws a jab when Afolabi was well out of range.
Afolabi misses with a body shot.
Afolabi lands with an uppercut that bounces Gatez off the cage and back into rage.
Gatez throws a series of punches but Afolabi avoids them all with ease.

Gatez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Afolabi's waist but Afolabi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gatez off to one side.

Afolabi feints and then cracks Gatez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gatez down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gatez shoots for a double leg takedown but Afolabi sprawls well. He's pushed Gatez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ola Afolabi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Afolabi, as that shot connected.
It looks like Link Gatez has been cut.

Gatez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Afolabi is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gatez.

Gatez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Afolabi.

Afolabi throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gatez.
Gatez misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Gatez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A slapping leg kick lands for Afolabi.
Afolabi lunges at Gatez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gatez's hand.
That has opened up Link Gatez's cut even more.
Gatez shoots for a double leg takedown but Afolabi sprawls well. He's pushed Gatez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gatez's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Afolabi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gatez's sensitive parts.

Afolabi lands a big head kick that sends Gatez tumbling to the mat! Afolabi takes a step backwards and waves Gatez back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gatez is rocked!
The cut above Link Gatez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Afolabi connects with an inside leg kick.
Gatez is still on wobbly legs! Can Afolabi finish him?
Afolabi throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Gatez stumbling backwards into the cage! Gatez bounces back off the cage towards Afolabi, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Afolabi lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Afolabi celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ola Afolabi!
