Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sasa Gusi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusi's entrance music is Ekipa- BGD Syndicate. A fine choice. Lewis has chosen Justin Moore - I Could Kick Your Ass as his entrance music. Mark Lewis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sasa Gusi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis throws a jab but it's blocked by Gusi.

Gusi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gusi lands a nice knee to the body.
Gusi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lewis smiles and moves away.
Mark Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gusi fails to land the takedown.
Lewis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gusi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lewis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Gusi scores with a takedown into Lewis's guard.
Gusi stays in close to Lewis's body and controls the position.
Gusi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Lewis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gusi passes into half guard.
Lewis wants to get back to full guard.

Gusi is looking for a kimura but Lewis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gusi to get the leverage.
Lewis tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Gusi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gusi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gusi is thwarting Lewis's attempts to control the position.

Gusi is trying to work for a kimura but Lewis is defending well.
Lewis is looking to get back to full guard here but Gusi has managed to pass to side control instead.
Lewis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lewis prevents Gusi from moving into mount.

Lewis wants to control but Gusi is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gusi landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sasa Gusi wasn't doing enough on the ground.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gusi.

Gusi moves into the clinch.
Gusi goes for a takedown attempt but Lewis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lewis misses with a right hand

and Gusi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lewis's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sasa Gusi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Gusi wants a takedown.
Gusi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lewis pulls his leg out and moves away.
An inside leg kick lands from Lewis.
Gusi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Lewis misses with a shot to the body

and Gusi counters with a single leg into guard. Lewis didn't expect that.

Lewis working for a triangle but Gusi defends it easily.
Gusi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Gusi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lewis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lewis has escaped and now he's on top!

Lewis tries to free his leg and advance position but Gusi is retaining full guard.
Lewis passes Gusi's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gusi trying to get back to full guard but Lewis takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Gusi tries to lock up and control but Lewis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lewis unloads with some shots from mount but Gusi bucks and avoids them well.
Lewis looking to control but Gusi is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Lewis looking to control and managing it successfully.
Lewis tries to control but Gusi wriggling away.
Gusi tries to reverse the position but Lewis maintains control.
Gusi wants to hold on but Lewis pushes him away.
Lewis throws a wild left hand from mount and Gusi manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Gusi wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Good shot there by Lewis.
Gusi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lewis on the side of the head.

Lewis gets caught napping as Gusi dives in and scores a takedown. Lewis manages to retain guard.
Gusi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lewis's head.
Lewis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gusi with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sasa Gusi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gusi trying to move into half guard but instead Lewis has managed to sweep!
Lewis postures up.
Lewis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gusi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gusi has control of Lewis's left arm, preventing Lewis from doing any damage.
Gusi wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Lewis is now in half guard.

Gusi manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gusi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gusi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lewis wants to control from the top but Gusi keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lewis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Gusi counters with a single leg into guard. Lewis didn't expect that.
Lewis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Lewis has control of Gusi's left arm, preventing Gusi from doing any damage.
Lewis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gusi trying to control but Lewis postures up.
Lewis prevents Gusi from improving his position.
Gusi trying to hold on to Lewis's head to control him but Lewis postures up.

Gusi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lewis.
Gusi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lewis is pressing down on Gusi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gusi is holding on for now.
Gusi is trying to control but Lewis manages to pass to mount!
Lewis trying to control but Gusi is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sasa Gusi showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Gusi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
