Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Channel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce McGoose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce McGoose is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Clark Channel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce McGoose!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGoose takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
McGoose needs to keep his hands up - Channel had a free shot at his head there.
Channel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McGoose blocks a head kick by Channel.
McGoose doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McGoose slips a jab from Channel.
Channel throws a head kick that misses.

McGoose shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Channel napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Channel is trying to get back to his feet.

McGoose is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Channel has escaped the position, nice work there.
McGoose in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Channel on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Channel is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McGoose has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Channel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Channel tries to get out of the position.
McGoose tries to advance to mount but Channel denies him.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
McGoose wants to control but Channel is keeping him busy.
McGoose prevents Channel from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Channel is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
McGoose misses with the ground and pound.
McGoose just content to control the position.
Channel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGoose on the ground.

McGoose tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGoose has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
McGoose has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Channel is trying to buck McGoose off.

McGoose is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Channel has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Channel is not content to let McGoose control the position.

McGoose tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGoose has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McGoose wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Channel, who protects the arm well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGoose wants to control but Channel is keeping him busy.
Check out the look on McGoose's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Channel bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Channel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Clark Channel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Channel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McGoose blocks a head kick by Channel.

McGoose closes the distance and clinches.
McGoose drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Channel gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Channel throws a punch but it's blocked by McGoose.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Clark Channel will probably get the nod.
That's time! Channel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Channel jabs McGoose right on the nose. McGoose blinks but takes it well.
McGoose looks to land a combination. Channel sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Channel throws a shot from downtown. McGoose moves away and avoids it.
McGoose lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Channel circles away quickly and effectively.
Channel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McGoose stalks Channel and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Channel's face. Channel staggers backwards, shaken.
Channel falls off balance throwing a combination
and McGoose counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Channel thinking.
McGoose tries to bum rush Channel with a series of wild strikes but Channel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Channel throws a sloppy body shot
and McGoose makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Channel circles away from the clinch attempt.
Channel misses with a looping left.
Channel missing with a left hand there. McGoose was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Some wild striking there from Channel.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and McGoose counters by moving into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Channel trying to control the position but instead, McGoose has worked for underhooks and has pushed Channel into the cage.
Channel pushes McGoose back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Channel lands an elbow just above McGoose 's eye.
Channel has a couple of punches blocked by McGoose.
Channel swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Channel is fighting off a takedown attempt but McGoose is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Channel to the mat. Channel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

McGoose trying to control the position from guard on top but Channel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McGoose tries to free his leg and advance position but Channel is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGoose in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
McGoose trying to control but Channel is working from the bottom.
Channel can't keep his opponent in guard - McGoose advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
McGoose throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGoose trying to pass the guard but Channel defending well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McGoose in particular looking to stall.

McGoose seems to be working for a kimura but Channel defends the submission attempt.
McGoose seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Channel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGoose is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
McGoose content to control rather than advance.
McGoose throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
McGoose is looking to take a break and control but Channel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bruce McGoose wasn't active enough on the ground.
McGoose throws a series of punches but Channel moves out of range.
No joy there for McGoose, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce McGoose showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Channel throws a combination that misses
and McGoose counters with a right hand to the body.
Bruce McGoose is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McGoose doesn't manage to clinch there - Channel circles away.
Channel throws a shot from downtown. McGoose moves away and avoids it.
Channel looks to land a left hand but McGoose moved out of range nicely.
McGoose lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A slow jab from Channel misses its intended target.
McGoose shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Channel pinned against the cage. Channel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McGoose on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

McGoose avoids the head kick by Channel.
McGoose closes this distance looking for a takedown but Channel circles away.
Channel stuffs the takedown attempt from McGoose. McGoose gets slowly back to his feet.
Clark Channel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce McGoose.
Channel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McGoose.

Channel misses with a body shot.
Channel throws a hook but McGoose avoids it easily.
McGoose avoids the head kick by Channel.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Channel misses with a low kick.
Channel looks to land a left hand but McGoose moved out of range nicely.

and McGoose counters with a nice double leg into guard.
McGoose trying to control the position from guard on top but Channel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Channel keeping moving, preventing McGoose from controlling successfully.

McGoose won't allow Channel to get back to his feet.
McGoose is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruce McGoose was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A combination from McGoose does no damage.
A jab from Channel misses.

McGoose drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

McGoose thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McGoose controlling from the top position.
McGoose prevents Channel from getting back to his feet.

McGoose slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
McGoose connects with a couple of short punches.
Channel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Channel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McGoose is pushing down on Channel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Channel is fighting to maintain full guard but McGoose has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGoose passes to full mount!
McGoose connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
McGoose controlling his opponent.
McGoose lands a big elbow.
McGoose has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Channel's face.
Channel is trying to stand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruce McGoose comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think McGoose has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
