The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
NineThousand shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kovrov sprawls well. Kovrov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. NineThousand gets slowly back to his feet.
Kovrov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but NineThousand circles away quickly and effectively.
Kovrov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches NineThousand on the side of the head.
NineThousand shoots in for a takedown but Kovrov shows good takedown defense.

NineThousand drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kovrov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now NineThousand has Kovrov in his guard.
NineThousand controls Kovrov momentarily but Kovrov frees himself.
NineThousand is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
