Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kristopher Kabong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by n. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kristopher Kabong!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones slips under a jab from Kabong.
Kabong throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kabong throws a shot to the body.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Kabong which made him look bad.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Kabong slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kabong misses with a looping left.
Kabong throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Kabong looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range.

Kabong fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kabong swivels and escapes.

Kabong gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kabong is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kabong can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kabong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones moves forwards but Kabong connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kabong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ground and pound from Jones seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Kabong is looking for a sweep.
Jones wants to control but Kabong is keeping him busy.
Jones is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kabong will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Jones in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kabong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kabong dodges the ground and pound from Jones.
Kabong wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kabong sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kabong bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.

Kabong might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Kabong is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.

Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kabong does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Kabong sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kabong as he avoids it easily.

Kabong looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kabong won't be happy with that.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kabong is concentrating on defense, preventing Jones from advancing position.
