Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junken Danes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maike Mitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danes comes into the arena with The Final Countdown blaring out of the sound system. Mitch has chosen C'mon ! as his entrance music. Junken Danes has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Danes lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mitch will feel that in the morning.

Danes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mitch's guard.
Danes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Danes passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mitch is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Danes has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Danes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mitch to his feet.
Mitch drops Danes with a left right combo! Mitch follows him down to the ground into side control.
Oh Danes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mitch stands up and beckons Danes to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Danes looks for a takedown but Mitch sprawls well.

and Danes counters with a shoot takedown. Mitch fights it but they end up in guard.

Danes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mitch keeps working.

Mitch pushes Danes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Danes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
A lull in the action here as Danes stalls from top position.
Mitch wants to get back to his feet.
Danes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mitch takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Mitch is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mitch sneaks out the side door and pushes Danes away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Danes.

Mitch is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Danes decides to stand back up.
Mitch throws a right hand that Danes ducks under and follows up with a left that Danes also avoids with ease.
Mitch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Danes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mitch misses with a few strikes there.
Maike Mitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Danes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mitch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Danes controls the position from side control.
Mitch wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Mitch is letting Danes control him for a moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mitch tries to escape but Danes is in control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Danes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mitch tries to bum rush Danes with a series of wild strikes but Danes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Danes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mitch as he avoids it easily.

Mitch rushes Danes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mitch prevents the takedown attempt.
Mitch wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Danes has him pressed against the cage.
Danes wants a takedown but no success here.

Danes has hold of one of Mitch's legs. Mitch is fighting the takedown attempt but Danes gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
