PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henery McLovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Schulz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLovin comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstuck - AC DC. Henery McLovin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Schulz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLovin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schulz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McLovin somewhat.
McLovin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schulz sprawls well. Schulz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McLovin gets slowly back to his feet.
McLovin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schulz but Schulz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henery McLovin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Schulz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Schulz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McLovin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schulz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McLovin defends it easily.
McLovin wants to control from the top but Schulz keeps moving.
McLovin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Schulz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McLovin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Schulz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Schulz has escaped and now he's on top!
McLovin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

McLovin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schulz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McLovin is breathing heavily.

John Schulz dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Schulz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Schulz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schulz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Schulz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Schulz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McLovin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schulz.

Schulz seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Schulz has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can McLovin defend it? Schulz steps over the head and cranks it - McLovin is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Schulz!
