Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valery Demyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Demyan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Amazing Grace. The crowd seem to be enjoying Van Dam's choice of entrance music: C R E A M By The Wu-Tang Clan. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demyan slips a jab from Van Dam.
Van Dam will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Van Dam on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Van Dam throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Dam misses with a two punch combination.
Demyan connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Demyan dodges the punch combination from Van Dam.
Demyan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Dam, pushing him back against the cage.
Van Dam wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Van Dam is looking to break free of the clinch but Demyan has double underhooks.

Demyan has Van Dam pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Van Dam manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

It looks like Brian Van Dam has been cut.
Demyan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Van Dam's efforts to push away.
Demyan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Van Dam, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Demyan clinches up against the cage.
Van Dam has had enough of the clinch but Demyan keeps him there for the moment.
Demyan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Van Dam is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Demyan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Van Dam misses with a straight left.
Demyan is looking to clinch.

Van Dam looks to land a combination but Demyan avoids it well.
Demyan catches Van Dam with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Demyan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Demyan - that will leave a mark!
Van Dam has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Demyan.

Van Dam takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Demyan connects with a high kick.
The cut above Brian Van Dam's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Brian Van Dam is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Whack! Demyan lands a heavy head kick that drops Van Dam. The ref tackles Demyan to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Van Dam was done.
