The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Monson pinned against the cage. Monson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Santana tries to score a power double leg takedown but Monson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Santana somewhat.
Monson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Santana was covering up waiting for the punch and Monson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
