The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice sprawl there from Powell as Jones shoots in.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Powell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Powell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Powell.
Powell is looking to clinch.

Powell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Powell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jones wants to control from the top but Powell keeps moving.

Powell is looking to sinch up a triangle. Jones throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Powell's body to avoid the submission. Powell has instead reached around Jones's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Powell arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
