Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Simons III moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
CJ Benn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Benn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Simons III.
Simons III throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Benn was covering up waiting for the punch and Simons III finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Simons III drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Benn dives on top into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that John Simons III will probably get the nod.

Simons III is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Benn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Benn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Benn gets tackled into the cage by Simons III. Simons III maintains the clinch.
Simons III misses with a knee strike.
Simons III has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Benn uses from the top position.
Simons III isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Benn stacks Simons III on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Benn!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Simons III.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simons III, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
