And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deupreaux tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Deupreaux throws a combination. Gracie tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Chuck Gracie has been cut.

Deupreaux looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Deupreaux is looking to stall here but Gracie recovers full guard.
Deupreaux wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Deupreaux defends easily.
Deupreaux trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gracie's guard.

Deupreaux sitting in guard here, content to control.
Gracie keeping full guard, as Deupreaux tries to pass.
Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Deupreaux is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Deupreaux controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jacques Deupreaux wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Deupreaux tries to move into range but Gracie moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Deupreaux throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jacques Deupreaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A combination from Deupreaux does no damage.
Gracie lunges at Deupreaux with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Deupreaux's hand.
Deupreaux stuffs the takedown.

Deupreaux shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gracie napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Deupreaux keeps moving and retains side control.

Deupreaux lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gracie down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deupreaux wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Deupreaux stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie swings for the body but Deupreaux moves out of range.
Gracie jabs Deupreaux to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gracie listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Deupreaux cracks Gracie with a right hand to the side of the head.
Deupreaux takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Deupreaux throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet.
Deupreaux throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie digs a good body shot into Deupreaux's ribs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Deupreaux takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Deupreaux is breathing heavily.
Deupreaux misses with a takedown
and Gracie counters with a right hand to the body.
Gracie is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Deupreaux wants to clinch
and Deupreaux takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Deupreaux misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacques Deupreaux. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Deupreaux saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gracie throws a one two combo.
Good shot there by Gracie.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gracie in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Deupreaux tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gracie!
