Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Pesanioco Noguerio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Dantas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Dantas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Pesanioco Noguerio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Dantas!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noguerio looks for a takedown but Dantas sprawls well.
Dantas looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Noguerio lands a big head kick that sends Dantas tumbling to the mat! Noguerio takes a step backwards and waves Dantas back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Lucas Dantas has been cut.

Noguerio clinches with his opponent.
Noguerio drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dantas is working for takedown but Noguerio is calmly controlling the position for now.

Noguerio is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dantas is controlling him.
Noguerio throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Noguerio is trying to keep Dantas in close.
Noguerio seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Noguerio will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carlos Pesanioco Noguerio has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Noguerio closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Noguerio takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Noguerio working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Noguerio is keen to just control but Dantas is a slippery customer.
Noguerio looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Carlos Pesanioco Noguerio.
Noguerio throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dantas's waist but Dantas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Noguerio off to one side.

Noguerio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dantas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Noguerio has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Noguerio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Noguerio lands in his opponent's guard.
Dantas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Noguerio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Noguerio seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dantas for as long as he can get away with.

Dantas tries to lock up and control but Noguerio gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Noguerio cracks Dantas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The referee warns Dantas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dantas can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Noguerio darts in and clinches Dantas up against the cage.

Noguerio ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Noguerio no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Noguerio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dantas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Noguerio is tightening it up a little... Dantas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dantas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dantas taps out! nice BJJ there by Noguerio!
