Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kilua Zordic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marquez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Zordic tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Marquez is in Zordic's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marquez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Zordic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marquez is one step ahead there.
Marquez postures up in Zordic's guard and throws a big left but Zordic blocks it.
Marquez wants to control from the top but Zordic keeps moving.
Marquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Zordic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marquez's guard.

Marquez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Zordic trying to control the position from guard on top but Marquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Zordic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zordic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marquez is on top in guard.
Marquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Zordic has wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zordic seems keen to control Marquez's posture.
Marquez looking to sit in guard and control but Zordic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Marquez keeping moving, preventing Zordic from controlling successfully.
Marquez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Zordic working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kilua Zordic just wasn't active enough.

Zordic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marquez on the ground.
Marquez cracks Zordic with a big elbow.
The referee asks Marquez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Marquez prefers to stall for the moment though.
Zordic wants to control but Marquez postures up.
Marquez has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Zordic!

Marquez working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Zordic looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Marquez! Submission of the night perhaps?
