Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Spetznaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frankie Boy!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Boy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boy pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Spetznaz back to the cage. Boy follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Boris Spetznaz has been cut.

Spetznaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Boy is trying to stand back up but Spetznaz is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spetznaz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Boy has one foot on Spetznaz's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Boy gets the takedown into side control.

Boy swings around for an armbar but Spetznaz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Boy's guard.
Spetznaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Boy is looking to stand up but Spetznaz isn't so interested in that idea.

Boy is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Spetznaz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Boy is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Spetznaz dives into side control.
Boy wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Spetznaz content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Boy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Spetznaz asserts his dominance and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Boy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spetznaz circles away quickly and effectively.
Boy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Frankie Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy looks to land a combination but Spetznaz avoids it well.
Frankie Boy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Spetznaz shoots for a double leg takedown but Boy sprawls well. He's pushed Spetznaz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Boy is not content to let Spetznaz control the position.

Boy tries to kick Spetznaz off but Spetznaz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Still in half guard, Spetznaz seems content to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Boris Spetznaz has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Boy misses with a two punch combination.

and Spetznaz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Spetznaz.
Spetznaz won't allow Boy to get back to his feet.
Spetznaz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Boy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spetznaz is controlling him.

Spetznaz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Boris Spetznaz just wasn't active enough.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Spetznaz feints and as Boy raises his hands in defense, Spetznaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Spetznaz stops Boy from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spetznaz dives in and grabs Boy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boy pushes down on Spetznaz's head and hops out.

Boy wants to get back to his feet.
Spetznaz wants to control the pace but Boy is squirming around nicely.

Boy bucks up and throws Spetznaz to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Boy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Boy throws a sloppy head kick and Spetznaz moves out of range easily.
Boy misses with a hook.
Boy has his takedown stuffed

and Spetznaz counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Spetznaz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Boy is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Spetznaz dives into side control.
Boy pushes Spetznaz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Spetznaz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Boy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spetznaz is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Boy's shoulder. That is not cool.
Boy tries to escape but Spetznaz is in control.
Boris Spetznaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Boris Spetznaz showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Spetznaz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
