Ruas comes to the cage accompanied by Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction. Highes has chosen Skynyrd's Simple Man as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas throws a right and a left that Highes avoids nicely.
Highes misses with a few strikes there.
Ruas takes a swing at Highes's ribcage but misses.
Highes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Sloppy strikes from Highes. Those never looked like landing.
Ruas tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ruas lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ruas thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ruas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Ruas is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Highes's half guard.

Ruas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Highes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ruas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Highes is keeping the position for now.

Highes has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ruas doesn't defend quickly enough and Highes has managed to lock this one up! Can Ruas escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Highes on a fantastic submission victory.
