The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazamier shoots for a takedown but Couture saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kazamier shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Couture pinned against the cage. Couture gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Kazamier counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Couture not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Couture trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Kazamier slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kazamier is looking to work some ground and pound but Couture has wrist control.

Couture is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kazamier tries to get to full guard but Couture has control of the leg.
Couture wants to free his trapped foot but Kazamier is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Tyson Couture has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kazamier tries to clinch there but Couture circles away.

Couture looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kazamier!

Couture has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Couture's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kazamier is in all sorts of trouble here.

Couture fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kazamier tries to lock up and control but Couture gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kazamier tries to reverse the position but Couture maintains control.

Couture will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tyson Couture.
