PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ol Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastard comes to the cage accompanied by Ol' Dirty Bastard - Brooklyn Zoo. The crowd seem to be enjoying Pain's choice of entrance music: "Meet the Monster" Five Finger Death Punch. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ol Bastard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Angel Pain!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard slips a jab and a cross from Pain.
Bastard showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pain.
Pain tries a head kick but it misses.
Pain takes one to the chin there.

It looks like Angel Pain has been cut.

Pain closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bastard to the mat! Bastard manages to get full guard.
Pain working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bastard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pain throws and elbow that misses. Bastard uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pain's guard. Nice move by Bastard!
Bastard working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Pain looking for a sweep. Not yet Pain, not yet.

Bastard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bastard controls from within his opponent's guard.

Pain is working an open guard so Bastard takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Pain fails to land the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bastard paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bastard moves into range and connects with a jab.
Bastard fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pain looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bastard keeps the fight on the outside.
Bastard throws a one two combo.
Pain looks gassed!
Pain has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pain there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bastard clobbers Pain with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Pain is rocked!
Bastard digs a good body shot into Pain's ribs.
Bastard lands with a big right hook that stumbles Pain - he's out on his feet here! Bastard follows up with another monster hook that separates Pain from consciousness! Pain falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Bastard stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ol Bastard!
