Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and chok rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). rivera has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! chok rivera is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rivera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and rivera wants it to stay on the feet.
Petrov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
rivera stuffs the takedown attempt from Petrov. Petrov gets slowly back to his feet.

Petrov misses with a takedown attempt - rivera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Petrov closes the distance and clinches up with rivera, looking for a takedown. Petrov pushes rivera against the cage but rivera circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Petrov doesn't manage to clinch there - rivera circles away.
rivera tries a head kick but it misses.
Petrov shoots in but rivera avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Petrov fails to land the takedown.
Petrov tries to land a front kick but rivera steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

rivera is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Petrov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. rivera can't fight it off and eventually Petrov manages to take the fight to the floor. rivera looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Petrov slips nicely into half guard.
Petrov stops rivera from getting back to his feet.
Petrov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Petrov moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Petrov is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. rivera looks calm but he's in trouble here. Petrov gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. rivera is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Petrov lets go of the hold and rivera can pop his arm back in it's socket.
