Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Afternoon Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Pootawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beast thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Beast drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beast jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Beast postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Beast throwing strikes but missing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Beast trying to control the position from guard on top but Pootawn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pootawn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Beast has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Beast is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pootawn sees it coming and defends easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Afternoon Beast.
I think Pootawn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
