Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danilo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos comes into the arena with CXA - Contos do Crime blaring out of the sound system. Danilo Santos had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cortez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Santos is pressed up against the cage. Cortez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Santos down to the mat. Santos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Cortez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Horrible takedown by Cortez or perhaps it was just good defense by Santos which made him look bad.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Santos enables Cortez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Santos manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cortez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
