And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Drago!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago shoots for a takedown but Haskil saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Drago takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Drago shoots in for a takedown but Haskil shows good takedown defense.

Haskil closes the distance and clinches.
A bit of stalling here from Haskil.
Haskil lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Victor Drago has been cut.
Haskil lands an elbow just above Drago 's eye.

Drago looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haskil is one step ahead there.

Drago is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Drago wants to hit a switch here but Haskil passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Drago there!

Drago is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Drago tries to escape but Haskil has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Drago wants to hold on but Haskil pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drago can't escape the position.
Haskil controlling the position easily from mount.
Drago is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Haskil takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Drago reaches up to try and control the position but Haskil seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Drago rolls and tries to escape and now Haskil has his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Drago tries to move into range but Haskil moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Drago looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Drago is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Haskil tries to clinch there but Drago circles away.
Drago shoots for a double leg takedown but Haskil sprawls well. He's pushed Drago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Drago fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Eddie Haskil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Drago.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drago throws a jab but it's blocked by Haskil.

Drago jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Haskil walks away with a smile on his face. Drago gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Drago is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Haskil gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Haskil creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Drago's defenses.

Victor Drago's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Haskil lands an elbow inside that Drago shrugs off.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Victor Drago's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Eddie Haskil!
