Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eaton Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Hoost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cox comes to the cage accompanied by Hatebreed - Destroy Everything. Hoost is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Man With A Harmonica. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eaton Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remy Hoost!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox lands with a right hand.
A bone on bone clash there as Hoost blocks the leg kick.
Cox blocks the body kick.
Hoost on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cox. Cox obviously looking to wear him down.
Cox blocks a low kick nicely.
Cox looks to score with a jab to the body but Hoost is just out of range.
Hoost misses with a kick to the body.
Hoost looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hoost lands with a slapping head kick.
Cox takes one to the chin there.
A low kick from Hoost is predictable there
and Cox counters with a thumping low kick.
Hoost fails to land with a series of punches.

Cox cracks Hoost with an open hand slap.
Hoost slips under a jab from Cox.
Hoost chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A head kick from Hoost lands but Cox takes it in his stride.
Hoost connects with an inside leg kick.
Remy Hoost is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cox thows a leg kick but Hoost checks it
and Hoost counters with a big head kick but Cox shrugs it off.
Cox sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hoost throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Cox tries to clinch up but Hoost circles away and keeps his distance.
Hoost throws a nice head kick!

Cox moves out of range of the body kick from Hoost.
Hoost misses with a low kick.
A head kick from Hoost lands but Cox takes it in his stride.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cox will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cox moves out of range as Hoost throws a body kick.
Cox thows a body shot but no joy.
Hoost connects with a high kick.
Cox scores with a hook to the body. Hoost takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cox swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Cox counters with a one-two to the body.

Hoost throws a head kick but Cox moves out of range.
Cox shoots in and drives through. Hoost sprawls well.
Hoost throws a head kick that Cox semi-blocks.
Nice uppercut lands for Cox. That snapped Hoost's head back.
Hoost throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Hoost throws a leg kick but Cox sees it coming and moves out of range.
Hoost looking to land some kicks to the body here.

and Cox counters with a takedown into side control.
Hoost prevents Cox from improving position.

Cox working the ground and pound but Hoost is defending the strikes.
Cox has control of an arm but Hoost manages to advance to Cox's back!

Cox trying to control but not successfully.
Hoost controlling well, preventing Cox from escaping the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


The fight stays on the outside here - Cox looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hoost swats away the attempt to clinch by Cox.
Hoost works over Cox's head and body with a nice combination.
Hoost throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hoost fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cox.
Cox wants to clinch.
Remy Hoost seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The fighters circling - Cox throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Hoost will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hoost throws a chopping leg kick but Cox manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Hoost throws a solid leg kick but Cox takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hoost.
Cox fails to land with a series of punches.
A jab lands there for Cox.
Cox shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoost tries to sprawl out of it but Cox keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoost manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A big left from Cox misses.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cox blocks a leg kick.
Hoost throws a sloppy head kick and Cox moves out of range easily.
Cox scores with a punch to the head.
Hoost moves out of range as Cox strikes.
Hoost tries to land a front kick but Cox steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hoost swats away the attempt to clinch by Cox.
Hoost moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cox closes the distance but Hoost moves to the side
and Hoost counters with a series of strikes. Cox will be more careful next time no doubt.

A head kick misses from Hoost.
Cox missing with a left hand there. Hoost was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cox chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hoost can pounce on him.
Hoost throws a predictable looking body shot
and Cox counters with a two punch combo.
Hoost looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hoost tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick by Hoost misses
and Cox counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cox thows a body shot but no joy.
Cox blocks a head kick by Hoost.
Nice shot lands for Cox.

Cox jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Remy Hoost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cox lands a glancing blow to the side of Hoost's head.
Hoost lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Hoost throws a leg kick but Cox moved away.
Hoost throws a leg kick
and Cox cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cox lands a lovely overhand right.
Cox missing with a left hand there. Hoost was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hoost takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A combination from Hoost does no damage.
Hoost looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Hoost throws a right hand that Cox ducks under and follows up with a left that Cox also avoids with ease.
Cox throws a leg kick
and Hoost counters with a solid body kick.
Hoost lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hoost misses with a head kick.
Hoost ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Cox takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hoost throws a leg kick
and Cox counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cox.
Cox moves out of range of the body kick from Hoost.

Hoost cracks the inside of Cox's front leg.
Cox cracks Hoost with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Cox avoids the head kick by Hoost.
Hoost on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Cox scores with a body shot.
Cox clobbers Hoost with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hoost lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hoost.
Hoost throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cox.
A low kick from Hoost is predictable there
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Hoost misses with a kick to the body.
Cox thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hoost lands a high kick!
Hoost throws a predictable looking body shot

and Cox counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cox trying to control but Hoost is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hoost can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cox content to stall in guard here.
Hoost avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cox tries to free his leg and advance position but Hoost is retaining full guard.
Cox is working hard here to advance position.
Hoost really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cox. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cox is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cox wants to pass the guard but Hoost is keeping the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hoost keeping moving, preventing Cox from controlling successfully.
Cox passes Hoost's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Cox wants to pass the guard but Hoost is defending well.
Hoost is looking to control Cox's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hoost avoid being mounted?

Eaton Cox clearly takes that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hoost attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Hoost lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hoost will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Hoost throws a solid leg kick but Cox takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hoost.

Cox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoost swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cox wants to control from the top but Hoost keeps moving.
Cox controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cox trying to control but Hoost is working from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hoost wants to stand but Cox is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eaton Cox.
Hoost throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Cox shoots in for a double leg but Hoost sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cox takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hoost with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cox to score with a decent uppercut.
Hoost tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hoost turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hoost scoring well with a low kick there.
Hoost throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hoost misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cox does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cox is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Cox counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hoost thinking.
Cox misses with a takedown attempt - Hoost sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hoost keeps the fight on the outside.

Hoost throws the kick towards the body but Cox avoids it.
Cox swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hoost lands with a kick to the ribs.

and Cox counters with a single leg into guard. Hoost didn't expect that.
Cox postures up and lands a big shot to Hoost's brow.
Cox slips nicely into half guard.
Cox stops Hoost from getting back to his feet.

That's time! Cox's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Hoost tries to keep at a distance but Cox has taken the fight into the clinch.

Cox wants the takedown. Hoost is fighting it off but Cox persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hoost's guard against the cage.
Cox tries to free his leg and advance position but Hoost is retaining full guard.
Cox stands and throws Hoost's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hoost managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cox.

Cox wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hoost, who protects the arm well.
Hoost gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Hoost is looking to get to half guard.

Cox is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hoost is surviving well by controlling Cox's body position as best he can.
Cox is looking to work his way around to Hoost's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cox unloads with some shots from mount but Hoost bucks and avoids them well.
Cox tries to control but Hoost wriggling away.
Cox controlling the position easily from mount.
Cox can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hoost is looking to escape.
Remy Hoost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cox is trying to take his opponent's back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cox moves to take his opponent's back.

Hoost is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cox gets his way!
Will Cox go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

And that's the end of the fight!
Eaton Cox showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cox has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
