The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harper leaves Redondo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Redondo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Harper makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Redondo closes the distance and clinches up with Harper, looking for a takedown. Redondo pushes Harper against the cage but Harper circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Harper moves into range and clinches up with Redondo.
Harper misses with a knee to the head.
Harper connects with a knee to the head.

Redondo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Harper is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Harper and Redondo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Harper is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Redondo is controlling him well.

Redondo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Redondo stands up and beckons Harper to his feet.

Redondo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harper sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Harper.
Harper walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Redondo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Redondo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Redondo misses with a takedown attempt - Harper sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Harper tries to bum rush Redondo with a series of wild strikes but Redondo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Redondo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Harper was covering up waiting for the punch and Redondo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Harper can't keep his opponent in guard - Redondo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
