Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogerio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "The Last of the Mohicans-FORT BATTLE" Entrance Theme for the Gracie Family. Rogerio Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Styles.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Styles sprawls well.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Styles counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Styles's guard.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Styles is retaining full guard.
Styles pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Styles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Styles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Styles looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Styles is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie stands and throws Styles's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Styles, who protects the arm well.

Gracie has hold of Styles's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Styles seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Styles is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Styles is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
