The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Motes has Vaughn up against the cage in a clinch.

Motes gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Vaughn regains guard.

Vaughn wants to improve his position but Motes is controlling well.

Motes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vaughn is just riding it out for now. Motes eventually gives up the hold.

Motes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Motes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Motes stands and throws Vaughn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Vaughn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
