Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksander Shlemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksander Shlemenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junkyard Dog!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dog swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A slow jab from Shlemenko misses its intended target.

Dog closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dog throws an elbow but Shlemenko slips to the side and avoids it well.
Shlemenko can't do much from the bottom here.

Dog in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dog accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Dog closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dog thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Shlemenko to regain full guard.

Dog stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shlemenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dog throws and elbow that misses. Shlemenko uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dog's guard. Nice move by Shlemenko!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shlemenko throws a lazy right hand but Dog sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dog misses with an uppercut. Shlemenko saw that one coming.

Shlemenko slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Dog 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Shlemenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Dog circles away.
Shlemenko misses with the combination.
Shlemenko fails to land with a series of punches.
Dog shoots in looking for a takedown. Shlemenko tries to sprawl out of it but Dog keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shlemenko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Shlemenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dog has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Junkyard Dog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dog winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
