Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Orlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen Invasion of the Bodysnatcher as his entrance music. Yuri Orlov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Scott Peterson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Yuri Orlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Orlov.
Yuri Orlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Orlov fails to land the takedown.
Orlov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peterson as he jumps to the side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Orlov.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuri Orlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Orlov shoots in looking for a takedown but Peterson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Orlov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Orlov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peterson but Peterson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Peterson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Orlov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Orlov shoots in looking for a takedown. Peterson tries to sprawl out of it but Orlov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peterson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Orlov shoots in and drives through. Peterson sprawls well.
Orlov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Orlov tries for a takedown but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Orlov closes the distance and clinches up with Peterson, looking for a takedown. Orlov pushes Peterson against the cage but Peterson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Orlov misses with a series of wild punches.
Orlov throws an overhand right that lands on Peterson's shoulder, as Peterson tries to avoid the shot.
Peterson moves out of range of the strikes.

Orlov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Peterson did well to prevent Orlov getting side control.
Orlov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peterson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Orlov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Orlov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peterson's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Peterson wants to sweep here but Orlov controlling him for the moment.
Peterson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Orlov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Orlov has gone for a leg lock! Peterson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Orlov's guard.
Peterson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Orlov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Orlov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peterson is fending him off so far but Orlov persists. Nope, Peterson circles away and we're back to standing.

Peterson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Orlov kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Orlov is looking for a sweep. Peterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Peterson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Orlov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yuri Orlov.
I think Peterson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
